Knowledge and Opinions About Social Security

This study of a probability sample of 2,207 adult Alabama residents found respondents to be relatively well informed about the major features of the Social Security retirement system. Level of knowledge, however, was not systematically related to public preferences for recently advanced policy alternatives for the system.
